The Digital Democracy Institute of the Americas (DDIA) announces a new partnership with Open Measures to strengthen its unique research and analysis of public WhatsApp groups across the Americas. The new trial partnership marks an important new chapter in DDIA’s work to understand how information (and misinformation) spreads across encrypted and semi-private digital spaces. Beginning this August 2026, DDIA will harness Open Measures’ tools to deepen its ongoing non-partisan body of research into Latino information ecosystems in the U.S. and Latin America.
