DDIA at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)
The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), co-hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Swiss Confederation, and co-organized with UNESCO, UNDP, and UNCTAD, convened global leaders to reflect on two decades of progress toward building people-centered, inclusive, and equitable digital societies.
The event brought together government ministers, regulators, civil society leaders, industry representatives, and technical experts to assess achievements and persistent challenges in the global digital ecosystem.
Roberta Braga, Executive Director and Founder of the Digital Democracy Institute of the Americas (DDIA), attended WSIS by special invitation, in her capacity as Vice President of the Board of Fundación Multitudes. Her participation reflects DDIA’s broader commitment to advancing democratic values, digital inclusion, and accountable governance within global technology and policy conversations.
